The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Thursday, July 25, 1929
John H. Stanton, 653 Bayard street, died Wednesday evening after a five-year 
illness during which time he suffered several strokes.  He was born in Orange 
township 55 years ago and had lived his life in the vicinity of Ionia.

He leaves a son, Alfred, a daughter, Mrs. Reva Fox, both of Ionia.  Also a 
brother, William Stanton, and five sisters, Mrs. Tony Ritter, Lake Odessa; 
Mrs. A. D. Green, Battle Creek; Mrs. Ben P. Clayton, New Mexico; Mrs. Alzina 
Chadwick, Belding, and Mrs. Harvey DeHart, of Ionia.

Rev. F. J. Fitch will conduct the funeral services from the Baptist church at 
2 o’clock Saturday afternoon.  The interment will be in the Tuttle cemetery.
