Terry will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 41 years, Mary Jo, and their children, Jami Stanton, Jodi (Brad) Nash, Terry (Susan) Stanton, Chris (Stacey) Stanton. Terry will also be fondly remembered by his seven grandchildren, Zachery, Meghan, Allie, Nikole, Chloe, Andru and Elizabeth. Terry was predeceased by his mother and father, Donald and Emma Jean Stanton. Terry was born on October 6, 1944, a native of Ionia, Michigan. He attended Ferris State University, graduating with a degree in accounting. Terry worked for The Dow Chemical Company for 27 years in positions that took him and his family from Michigan to Ohio, to Texas and back to Midland. Upon leaving Dow Chemical, Terry became a partner in Omni Tech Intl. Limited. In retirement, he started his own company, The Stanton Group, which actively holds real estate investments around the country. Terry was a “Midlander”, committing countless hours to his real passion, serving the public youth through sport. Terry was a Midland Amateur Sports Hall of Fame member and inductee, enshrined for his founding work for the Midland Soccer Club. He also was instrumental in bringing soccer into the Midland Public School system. Terry was an active member of the Midland Amateur Sports Capital Committee and was a member of the Noon Rotary Club. He truly believed in the humanitarian service the Rotary Club provides in the Midland area. A celebration of Terry's life will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, June 21, 2007 from the First United Methodist Church. Rev. Dr. Brent McCumons will officiate. Terry's family will receive friends at the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Home, 1200 West Wheeler Street on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. and at the church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until time of service. Terry was the recipient of a kidney transplant 19 years ago. Therefore, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Great Lakes Renal Home Dialysis or the Kidney Foundation.
