Naomi Ruth Stapleton, 90, of Portland died July 29, 2000.

She was born in Ann Arbor, Aug. 14, 1909, the daughter of Frank P. and Ruth 
Naomi (Luckins) Robinson. Naomi, along with her husband, Chester B. Stapleton, 
were well known throughout the world for Round Dance Choreography.

Surviving are children, Robert E. (Patricia) Stapleton of Austin, Texas, James 
R. (Darlene) Stapleton of St. Myers, Fla, Margaret (John) Gustafson of Portland, 
John E. (JoAnn) Stapleton of Austin, Texas and Susan Stapleton of Lansing; 17 
grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; children, Naomi and Thomas 
Stapleton, sister, Inez Longpre; and brothers, Horace and Clifford Robinson.

Services were held Aug. 1, at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home with Rev. Joe 
Robbe of Mt. Hope Church in Portland officiating. Graveside services followed at 
North Eagle Cemetery.

Contributions may be made to the American Alzheimer's Association.
