Portland Review - May 17, 1993

Chester B. Stapleton, 88, of Lansing died May 8, 1993, in Lansing.

He was born in Caruthersville, Mo., on April 22, 1905, the son of Lester and 
Mary (Scott) Stapleton. He retired from Parke-Davis Pharmaceutical Company where 
he was employed as a bacteriologist.

Surviving are his wife, Naomi; two daughters, Margaret (John) Gustafson of 
Portland and Susan Stapleton of Lansing; three sons, Robert (Patricia) Stapleton 
of Austin, Texas, James (Darlene) Stapleton of Denver, Colo. and John (JoAnn) 
Stapleton of Austin, Texas; 17 grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren.

Services were held May 11 at Gorsline-Runciman Neller Chapel in Portland, with 
Rev. Joseph Robbe officiating. 

Casket bearers were Michael Stapleton, Thomas Gustafson, John Gustafson, James 
Gustafson, William Longpre and Frank Robinson.

Interment in North Eagle Cemetery.
