PASTOR KIRK LEON STARKWEATHER 1944-2016
Pastor Kirk Leon Starkweather, age 72, of Vicksburg, formerly of Ionia, passed 
away Nov. 1, 2016, after a lengthy illness. He was born July 3, 1944, in 
Ortonville, Michigan the son of Earl L. and Elsie (Tisronstart) Starkweather, 
Kirk would go on to marry the love of his life, Rosalie Culver Jan. 5, 1963 in 
Lowell. He served as a Pastor for 36 years, 31 of those years at Ionia Church of 
the Nazarene.

He is survived by his wife Rosalie Starkweather of Vicksburg; children, Deborah 
(Bob) Manville of Spring Arbor, Julia (Dan) Ferris of Lake Worth, Florida and 
Jeffery (Julie) Starkweather of Ionia; grandchildren, Micah Manville, Joshua 
Manville, Nathan (Molly) Ferris, Matthew Ferris, Sydney Ferris, Anais Garcia and 
Zack (Rachel) Starkweather; brothers, Bruce Starkweather of Lowell, Craig 
(Paula) Starkweather of Mackinac Island and Ross Starkweather of Newaygo; 
sister, Sue (Dave) Beute of Belding.

Kirk was preceded in death by his parents; brother Gary Starkweather and sister 
Sheryl Miles.

Funeral service will be held Friday, Nov. 4, 2016 at noon at the Ionia Church of 
the Nazarene with Pastor John Shoup officiating. Interment will be at Balcom 
Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, 10 AM until the time of services at the 
church. Arrangements by Lake Funeral Home in Ionia. Memorial contributions may 
be made to Indian Lake Nazarene Camp or Starfysh laGonave, Haiti. Online
