Ionia Sentinel Standard, 26 Mar 1979

Laura P. Statsick, 82, of Lake Odessa, died Friday evening at Pennock hospital.
 She had been a patient at the Provincial House in Hastings for the past eight
years.  Mrs. Statsick was born October 21, 1896 in Woodland township, the
daughter of John and Louisa (Gerlinger) Smith.  She married Arthur Statsick,
November 27, 1927.  He preceded her in death April 25, 1967.  She lived her
entire life in the Woodland area where she was a member of the Lakewood United
Methodist church, the Woodland Farm Bureau and the Lakeside Auxiliary Veterans
of WWI.

Surviving are two sister-in-laws: Mrs. Harold (Martha) Smith and Mrs. Kenneth
(Dorothy) Smith, both of Lake Odessa; nieces and nephews: Mrs. LaVerne (JoAnne)
Jackson of Lake Odessa; Gerald Smith of Grand Rapids; Mrs. Alden (Joyce)
Brinningstaull and Mrs. Nancy Herschberger, both of Lake Odessa; Larry Smith of
Pontiac, Sherri Bouman of Hastings and Harold Fender of Madison Heights.

Funeral services were Monday at 2:30 p.m. at Pickens-Koops Funeral Chapel in
Lake Odessa.  Rev. James Hulett officiated.  Burial was in Lakeside cemetery,
Lake Odessa.
