Lyons – Mrs. Vera Steadman, 79, died about 4:30 Monday afternoon August 12 at
Receiving hospital in Redford following a stroke earlier the same day.  She had
gone to Redford last Friday to visit relatives and was at the home of a sister,
Mrs. Dorothy Jorgensen.  She was born in 1878 the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry
Woodworth on a farm east of Lyons.  In 1898 she was married to George H.
Steadman an ex-postman in Lyons who died in 1950.  She was a member of the Lyons
Methodist church, past matron of Evergreen chapter Order of Eastern Star and a
charter member of the Lyons research club.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Albert Benedict of Lyons; two brothers, Bela
Woodworth of Highland Park, and Plyn Woodworth of Muir; three sisters, Mrs.
Bertha Thomas of Northville, Mrs. Kate Higgins of Detroit, and Mrs. Dorothy
Jorgensen of Redford.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. from the Lyons Methodist
church.  The Rev. Robert Watt will officiate and burial will be in Lyons
cemetery.  Arrangements are by Shaw-Rivett funeral home at Muir.
