Ionia Standard – Friday, 3 March 1905

Mrs. Delilah Stearns (relict of Wm. C., who died some 26 years ago) an old and 
highly respected resident of Ionia Township, died on Tuesday Feb. 28, at six 
o’clock at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Chas. O’Neil, East Main St.  
Mrs. Stearns was 78 years of age.  She leaves four sons, three daughters, and 
many friends to mourn her death.  There were with her at time of her death, 
her son Leander and Mr. and Mrs. Abb Stearns, of Hastings, and her daughters, 
Mrs. Chas. O’Neil, Mrs. Archie Hewitt of Chicago, and Mrs. Raab, of Port 
Huron.  Her son Frank arrived from Pittsburg soon after her death.  Funeral 
services will be held at the residence Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock.  
Interment in Highland Park.
