Marjorie C. Stearns, 90, of Palo, passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2011 at the 
Laurels of Fulton, with her family by her side.

On Sept. 23, 1920, Marjorie was born the daughter of Bernard and Mary (Mills) 
Tibbet, in Grandville, and they, along with two brothers, one sister and three 
grandchildren have preceded her in death. 

On Jan. 4, 1940, Marjorie was married to Neal A. Stearns in Grandville, and he 
survives her along with their daughter, Carmen and Dan Lindquist of Palo; two 
sons, Steven and Sandra Stearns of Hopkins, and David and Marlinda Stearns of 
Scio, Oregon; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three great-great-
grandchildren; and her sister, Arminta DeYoung of Lansing.

Marjorie was a member of the Eastern Stars and the Palo United Methodist 
Church. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family.

Funeral services will be held at noon on Thursday, June 23, 2011 at the Palo 
United Methodist Church with Pastor Larry Nalett officiating. Visitation will 
be at the church, one hour prior from 11 a.m. to noon. Final interment will be 
at the Palo Cemetery.

For those desiring to do so, the family has suggested memorial donations can be 
made in lieu of flowers to either the Ionia County Commission on Aging or Ionia 
Area Hospice and envelopes will be available at the church.
