Stebbins, 76, widow of the late Allen E. Stebbins, former lieutenant governor of Michigan, died Wednesday morning at Sheridan Community hospital where she had been confined for some time. Mrs. Stebbins was born April 3, 1876 in Keene township, the daughter of William V. and Anna Ellison. In 1894 she was married to Allen E. Stebbins, former Ionia funeral director. Mr. Stebbins, who died January 25, 1941, was elected lieutenant governor of Michigan in 1932. Mrs. Stebbins was a member of the Methodist church of Ionia and the Order of Eastern Star. Funeral services are to be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. at the church with the Rev. Frederick Dunbar of Grand Rapids and the Rev. Heath Goodwin, pastor of the Ionia church, officiating. Burial will be at Easton cemetery. Until the service Mrs. Stebbins will be at the Boynton funeral home. Surviving are seven children; a daughter, Mrs. Max Monningh of Ionia; and six sons, A. L. Stebbins of Sheridan, Hyland W. of Lansing, Gerald B., Leland, Max J., and Melbourne A. Stebbins, all of Ionia; 13 grandchildren and three great grandchildren; and three brothers, Harry Ellison of Riverdale; Harvey of Saranac; and Floyd Ellison of Ionia.
