Stebbins, 77, of Rice Street, Ionia, died Tuesday at Ionia County Memorial Hospital. She was born in Allegan on Aug. 16, 1902, the daughter of William and Alice (Rathburn) Born. She graduated from Allegan High School, Allegan County Normal and Western Michigan University. She taught school for several years in various Michigan public schools. She married Harold Stebbins of Saranac on Aug. 18, 1948, and he preceded her in death Sept. 26, 1964. Mrs. Stebbins was a member of the Ionia First Christian Church, the Order of Eastern Stars, the Churchwomen United, the Ionia Garden Club, the White Shrine of Jerusalem, the Senior Citizens Club, the Ionia County Retired Teachers Association, the Ionia Extension Club and the Ionia Crafts Club. Surviving are one nephew, Richard Born, of San Antonio, Texas, and several great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the Leddick Funeral Home with the Rev. Ronald Dow of the First Christian Church officiating. He will be assisted by the Rev. Nolan Williams of the Easton United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Easton Cemetery, and the family will be at the funeral home Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Memorial funds have been established to the First Christian Church and the Easton United Methodist Church.
