May 14, 1954 Miss Elva E. Stebbins, 91, died Tuesday, May 11, in Detroit after a long illness. She was born in Easton township, Ionia county, the daughter of Seymour M. and Ruth A. Stebbins who were pioneer residents of Ionia and vicinity. She was a retired school teacher and had taught for many years in schools in Evart, Calumet and Detroit. She was a member of the Presbyterian church in Detroit and for many years was active in the Red Cross and as a social worker. Surviving are one niece, Mrs. Velma Densmore Cooper of Rochester; two nephews, Max Densmore of Saranac and Seymour B. Stebbins, and one sister-in-law, Mrs. Nettie Stebbins of Stanton. Graveside services will be conducted Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock at Easton cemetery.
