Ionia Sentinel Standard, 18 Nov 1983

Leslie Stebbins, 62, former Ionian, died Thursday in Port Ritchie, Fla.  He was
born Oct. 9, 1921, in Saranac, the son of Elvon and Myrtle Magee Stebbins, and
was married Aug. 15, 1942, in St. Johns, to Lina Smith.

He was employed by Ionia State Hospital for 18 years, retiring in 1975.  A
veteran of the Army during World War II, he was a former governor the Ionia
Moose Lodge and a former member of Ionia Elks.

He is survived by his wife Lina; a daughter, Mrs. Michael (Sharon) Kanouse of
Orleans; three grandchildren; and his mother, Myrtle Stebbins of Belding.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Roetman Funeral Home,
Ionia, with burial in Easton Cemetery.  The family will be at the funeral home
Sunday and Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
