Maurice T. Stebbins, 77, of Boyne City died Friday at the Little Travers
hospital in Petosky.  He was born on January 21, 1905, in Easton township the
son of Perry and Mae Conner Stebbins.

He was associated with the Stebbins Ice Cream company of Saranac, a corrections
officer at Michigan Reformatory, and active in 4-H and Farm Bureau.  He was also
a member of the Easton United Methodist Church before he moved in 1970.  He
married Evelyn Brook in January of 1930.

Surviving are his wife; two daughters: Mrs. Marilyn Brown of Boyne City and Mrs.
Ann Bremer of Louisiana; three grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Monday at 1 p.m. from the Easton United
Methodist church, the Rev. Elton Schram officiating.  Burial will be in Easton
cemetery.  A memorial has been the Easton United Methodist Church, in the care
of the funeral home.
