Ionia Sentinel Standard, 13 Jun 1986

Myrtle E. Stebbins, 87, of Ionia died Thursday evening in Belding Christian
Nursing Home.  Born in Ovid May 15, 1899, she was the daughter of C.A. and
Elizabeth Webster Magee.  She was married to Elvon Stebbins and they spent most
of their married life in the Ionia area.

She worked with her husband in the Stebbins ice cream plant on Sayles Road, in a
dairy bar in Grand Rapids, and also the dairy bar at McNamara Drug Store.  Her
husband preceded her in death in April 1943.  she was a former member of Easton
United Methodist Church.

Surviving are a grand daughter, Mrs. Harold (Sharon) Kanouse, of Orleans; three
great grandchildren; a sister, Clare Halstedt of Jennison; and nieces and
nephews.  A son Leslie Stebbins died in 1984 and his wife, Lina, died in 1985.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 4:30 p.m. from the Montgomery-Leddick
Funeral Home, with the Rev. Kenneth Harger officiating.  Burial will be in
Easton Cemetery.  The family will be at the funeral home Friday from 2 to 4 p.m.
and 7 to 9 p.m.  A memorial has been established for Shiloh Community Church, in
care of the funeral home.
