Maraquita Isabelle “Keta” Stebbins, age 93, passed away on Wednesday, November 
24, 2004 in Lansing, MI. She was born on August 25, 1911 in Sheridan the 
daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth (Tow) Steere. 

Mrs. Stebbins was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church of 
Ionia and the Casey Stewart Circle. She was the owner of The Vogue Shop for 34 
years and was a member of the Ionia Area Chamber of Commerce, the Ionia 
Literary Club, the BPW, and the Girl Scouts. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Melbourne; brother, David Steere; 
grandson, Mark Shellenbarger; She is survived by her children, David (Barbara) 
Stebbins of Ionia, Melbourne (Kathryn) Stebbins of Columbia, SC, Suzanne 
(Dennis) Allen of Ionia, and Julie Ann (Jake) Spray of Adrian, MI; 10 
grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister-in-
law Eva Mae Steere and her children. 

The memorial service will be conducted by Mrs. Nancy Patera at 1 p.m. Monday, 
November 29, 2004 at the First United Methodist Church of Ionia. The family 
will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at church on Monday. 
For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the First United 
Methodist Church, in memory of Mrs. Maraquita I. "Keta" Stebbins.
