Mrs. Stedman was born September 11, 1866 in Ronald township and had been a life long resident there with the exception of a few years when she and her husband operated a post office and general store at Sethton in Gratiot county. She was married to R. W. Griffin in 1890 and he died in 1926. In 1931 she married James Stedman of Palo who died in 1934. She was a teacher in rural schools in her early life and a member of the Palo Baptist church. Survivors are one brother, P. W. Hall of Palo and nine nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Palo Baptist church. The Rev. W. W. Pixley of Ionia will officiate and burial will be at Palo cemetery. The body will lie in state one hour before the services at the church and at present is at Stebbins funeral home in Sheridan. It is respected that flowers be omitted. Mrs. Stedman had been the Palo Correspondent for the Ionia Daily Sentinel- Standard for more than 40 years.
