Stedman, 96, who died at 12:15 a.m. Saturday at the home of his son, Lee Stedman, 502 Nicholson street. Born December 18, 1845 at Spencer, Ohio, he came to Ronald township when he was 19 years old. He lived in that vicinity for several years and then moved to Haynor where he lived for 10 years. After that he moved to South Ionia where he resided for 25 years. During the past years he had made his home with his children. He married Miss Pauline Hendershot in 1866, and she died in 190?. He married Mrs. Kate Warden in 1906 and her death occurred in 1930. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Stedman, of Ohio. His occupation was ?? and threshing. He was a member of the Woodard Lake Church of Christ. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Leon Sayles of Los Angeles, California, Mrs. Charles Gilmore of West Berlin township, Mrs. W. L. Amphlette of Ionia; two sons, N. H. Stedman of Cosmopolis, Washington and Lee Stedman of Ionia; ten grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. Interment will be held at Woodard lake cemetery, Rev. C. A. Brady of the Church of Christ will officiate at the service. Friends are asked to please omit flowers.
