Ionia Sentinel-Standard - Sat. Dec. 31, 1966

John L. Stedman, 79, route 1, Stedman road, prominent lifelong resident of 
Ronald township, died at Ionia County Memorial hospital Friday evening where he 
had been admitted Wednesday afternoon.

Mr. Stedman was born in Ronald township October 4, 1887 and was the son of 
James and Ida Stedman.

On November 30, 1911 he married Nettie Shaw.

Living at his present residence since 1925 he was a member of First Christian 
church, lifelong member and past master of Palo lodge 203 F&AM, lifelong member 
of Palo O.E.S., and member of Ronald Grange.

Surviving are his wife, Nettie, a daughter, Mrs. Idaleen Fetzner of Alma; son, 
Leslie Stedman of Ronald Township nine grandchildren and two great 
grandchildren. Two brothers, Bert Stedman and George Stedman preceded him in 
death.

The body will be at Stone-Kauffman funeral home until noon Monday when it will 
be taken to First Christian church for 2 p.m. services. Rev. James Kendall will 
officiate and burial will be in Woodard Lake cemetery.

A memorial fund for the church has been established.
