                  STEDMAN

Phyllis (Waldron) Stedman, age 101 of Ionia Passed away on Saturday, January 25, 
2025.She was born November 5, 1923 in Greenville the daughter of Russell and 
Gladys (Campbell) Waldron.

Phyllis graduated from Ionia High School in 1941 and went to business college in 
Lansing. She met her future husband,Leslie at the Ronald Grange where they 
enjoyed one of their favorite past times, dancing. Phyllis married Leslie 
September 12, 1942, he preceded her in death September 2, 2014.

She was a member of First Christian Church in Ionia, taking part in the choir 
and also as a Deaconess.Phyllis was a member of the Eastern Star in Palo and the 
Ronald Grange. She worked for the Soil Conservation Office in Ionia for many 
years, where she loved selling trees each year.Phyllis also loved being a 
Farmer's wife helping run the family farm for many years.

She is survived y her children, Gerald(Kathy) Stedman of Ionia,Brian (Connie) 
Stedman of Gowen, Barbara Rios of Stanton and Bonnie Weedmark of Sheridan., 
Brother, Austin Waldron of Rockford, 9 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 
18 great-great-grandchildren.

Phyllis was preceded in death by parents, husband Leslie, brother and sister-in-
law,Wayne and Jane Waldron, Sister-in-law Reathel Waldron, grandson Doug 
Weedmark, daughter-in-law Linda Stedman, son-in-laws Norm Weedmark, Bob 
Alexander,Carl Rios, Sister-in-law and brother-in-law Vic and Idaleen Fetzner.

Funeral services were at the Lake Funeral in Ionia on Thursday, January 30th at 
2:00 p.m.,with Pastor John Prominski officiating.Interment Woodard Lake 
Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home was on Thursday 1 hour prior to 
services.Those wishing may make memorial contributions to University of Michigan 
Health-Sparrow Hospice, 1322 E.Michigan Ave. Suite 204, Lansing,MI 48912. Online
