Ionia Sentinel Standard, 14 Oct 1963

Mrs. Ethel Steele, 73, of route one, Ionia, died suddenly at 12:30 Sunday 
morning in Ionia County Memorial hospital after being ill only a few hours.

She was born December 23, 1889 in Ionia county and spent her entire life in 
this area.  Her husband, Leander died in 1948, also two daughters preceded her 
in death.

Surviving are a son, Lester Steele of Grand Rapids; a brother, Frank Ritenburg 
of Leavenworth, Kan.; four grandchildren whom she raised, Kenneth Harley of 
Ionia, Harold Harley of Florida, Richard and Robert Carten of Ionia; and four 
great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Myers funeral home with the 
Rev. ?? Fassett officiating.  Burial will be at Highland Park Cemetery.
