Ionia Daily Sentinel Standard, 6 Apr 1936

Clarence Steele, 33, died Sunday, April 5, at the University hospital at Ann 
Arbor.  He has been in poor health for the past thirteen years and was taken 
seriously ill three weeks ago.  Mr. Steele was the son of Mr. and Mrs. William 
Steele and was born November 25, 1903 in Ionia township.  He was united in 
marriage June 17, 1923 to Miss Edna Scheid, of Belding.

Surviving him are his wife, Edna and three children, Richard Emory, John 
William and Kathleen Maria, his father, William Steele, Sr., and three 
brothers, Arthur, of Washington, D.C., William, of Ionia; Emory, of Melvindale, 
and six sisters, Mrs. Lloyd E. Snyder, of Ionia; Mrs. Ray Mulnix, of Grand 
Ledge; Mrs. Orval Harris and Miss Edna Steele, of Kalamazoo; Mrs. Walter 
Peterman, of Sheridan, and Miss Nellie Steele, of Lansing.

Funeral service will be from the home, 121 Dexter street, Wednesday morning at 
8:30 o’clock and from the St. Peter and Paul church at 9 o’clock.  Interment at 
Mt. Olivet cemetery.
