Ionia Daily Sentinel, 19 Nov 1951

Amos H. Steele, 70, of Berlin township died at Blodgett Memorial hospital 
Sunday, November 18, at 8:50 a.m. after being admitted five hours earlier.  He 
suffered a heart attack Saturday morning and another that evening.

He was born in Ionia October 26, 1881, the son of Anthony and Caroline Steele.  
He lived his entire life in Ionia county, making his home in Berlin township 
for the past five years.  He worked at the Ypsilanti Reed for six years, 
retiring in 1946.  

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Paul Pomerville of South Ionia and Mrs. Floyd 
Hampshire of Berlin township; two sons, Ray and Amos Erwin; four grandchildren; 
and one sister, Mrs. Elmer B. Minaker of Ionia.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Boynton funeral 
home by Dr. Howard A. Smith.  Interment will be in the family lot, Tuttle 
cemetery.
