Ionia Sentinel-Standard - Mon. April 3, 1972

LAKE ODESSA- Mrs. Barbara L. Steele, 81, of Sebewa area died Sunday evening at 
Pennock hospital in Hastings where she had been a patient since last Tuesday.

Born October 23, 1890, in Sebewa township she was the daughter of James and 
Orpha Treece Crowell. She was a resident of Odessa and Orange areas until five 
years ago when she went to make her home with her son, Howard L. Goodenough of 
Vermontville. 

Surviving are the son, Howard; two daughters, Mrs. Vera Wells of Elkhart, Ind., 
and Mrs. Reva VanHouten of Lake Odessa; 16 grandchildren and 24 great 
grandchildren. 

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1:30 pm at Pickens funeral chapel in Lake 
Odessa. Interment will be at Letts cemetery on Peck Lake road.
