Rites Tuesday for Retha A. Steele

Mrs. Retha A. Steele, 80, of 1485 Clark Rd. route 1 Woodland, passed away Sunday 
morning at the Barry County Medical Facility where she had been a patient for 
several weeks. 

She was born in Woodland, Dec. 9, 1893, the daughter of Charles and Mary 
(Conley) Yank and was a lifelong resident of the Woodland area.

She married Howard Steele of Woodland Feb. 8, 1911 and he passed away October 
26, 1965.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Marshall (Evelyn) Belson of Hastings; a son, 
Kenneth of Woodland; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and a sister, 
Mrs. Lenna Rockwell of Charlotte.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday at 1:30 at the Pickens-Koops Funeral 
Chapel, Lake Odessa. Rev. Willard Curtis of Hastings officiated with burial in 
the Woodland Memorial Park.
