Ionia Sentinel Standard, 26 Nov 1973

A retired Lake Odessa farmer, Levi Steele, 76, died Saturday night of an
extended illness at his home at 14121 Perry road.  Born November 3, 1897, in
Odessa township he was the son of Charles and Margaret Smith Steele and was a
lifelong resident of the area.  September 25, 1922, he was married in Ionia to
Thelma M. Tift and they lived all their married lives in Campbell township.

Surviving besides the wife are two daughters, Mrs. Reatha Rudy of Bellingham,
Wash., and Mrs. Verlene Rhoades of rural Clarksville; three sons, Kendall Steele
of Lake Odessa, Duane of Bloomfield township, and Roy of Kalamazoo; 13
grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at Pickens-Koops funeral chapel
of Lake Odessa.  Rev. Keith Coffey will officiate and interment will be at
Fuller cemetery, Carlton township.
