Ionia Sentinel – Tuesday, 19 September 1939

Funeral services for Mrs. Nina Steere, widow of William C. Steere, Ionia 
county circuit court stenographer for 40 years, were held from the Baptist 
church at 2:30 p.m. Monday.  Dr. C. E. Hawkins of Mt. Pleasant and Rev. George 
Woolcock of the Ionia Baptist Church officiated.  

Flowers were in charge of Miss Helen Fanning, Mrs. Bruce O’Connell and Mrs. 
Myra Cole of Mt. Pleasant.  Bearers were Herbert Powell, Stanley Powell, E. W. 
Briggs, C. J. Haight, John C. Beattie and Ormison Hilborn.  Among those 
attending the services from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Malcolm S. Wardrop 
of Mt. Pleasant.
