Greenville Daily News, 14 Oct 1958

Lawrence E. Steffes, 45, 934 Masonic Ave., died Monday at United Memorial
Hospital in Greenville following a six months illness.  A maintenance man for
Gibson, Mr. Steffes was born at Byron Center, April 1, 1913.  His parents were
Chris and Mary Steffes.  He had lived in Belding and vicinity for the past 37
years.  On Feb. 7, 1941, he married the former Eythel Shear at Belding, who
survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Donna Jean, 12, and Suzanne Kay, 11 two sons,
David, 15, and Thomas, 9; three sisters, Mrs. S.G. Brewer, Detroit, Mrs. Lewis
Rittersdorf, Ionia, and Mrs. Roy McCarthy, Grand Rapids, and two brothers, Peter
and Esper Steffes, Belding.

Funeral arrangements will be announced later by Huffman Funeral Home.
