Se was one of twelve children born to John and Anna (Meluis) Mayer in Slinger, Wisconsin on January 24, 1906. She attended schools in Slinger, Wisconsin; Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Chicago, Illinois. he was married to Gotthold Steinfuehrer in Chicago, Illinois on January 22, 1941. They resided on a farm near Vermontville and Anne worked as a bookkeeper for the Sunfield Farmers Elevator for twenty-six years. She sold her farm and moved to Lake Odessa in 1991 and was a resident in Foster Care at the Thornapple Manor. She was member of the Vermontville Congregational Church. She is survived by nieces and nephews. Graveside funeral services were held Saturday, August 24, 1996 in Woodlawn Cemetery, Vermontville, with Reverend Joseph Graybill of Edmore United Methodist Church officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Arrangements were made by Koops Funeral Chapel, Lake Odessa.
