Mrs. Martha Bertha Steinke wife of William Steinke, died at the Blodgett 
hospital in Grand Rapids on Wednesday evening following an operation for 
goiter.  She was thirty years old.  The funeral will be held on Saturday at 
three o’clock from the residence at 320 North Dexter Street, and the interment 
will be in Highland Park.  Mrs. Steinke leaves besides her husband, who is 
assistant superintendent at the Hayes-Ionia, three daughters.  She also leaves 
three brothers, Paul and Will Schipper of this city, and Frank Schipper of 
this city, and Frank Schipper of Detroit and three sisters, Mrs. Robt. Holtz 
and Mrs. Charles Heiden of Ionia and Mrs. Woodrick of Flint.

Funeral for Mrs. Wm. Steinke was held at the home on North Dexter street 
Sunday afternoon, Rev. Garrard officiated and Mesdames Fox and Peck, with Mrs. 
Bloomer at the piano, furnished the music.  The bearers were Charles Heiden, 
Robert Holtz, and Rudolph and Herman Steinke.  Interment was in Highland 
Park.  There was a large attendance of friends and relatives at the funeral 
and the flowers were very beautiful and numerous.
