MAXINE STEMLER, 93
Maxine Ileen Stemler, 93, of Sebewa passed away Friday May 25, 2018 in Sumner, MI.

She was born March 22, 1925, the daughter of Jerry Arthur and Blanch Ellen (Webster)
Hummel. She was a Portland School Bus driver for many years. She was always helping
out by cutting all the neighbors hair, fixing their bikes, wallpapering, fixing cars,
and remodeling houses.

Maxine was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth in 2002, and a daughter, Donna
in 1997.

Surviving are sons, Richard (Yvonne), Doug (Diane), Kenny, Robert, Daughter, Nancy 
(Mark) Thompson, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-
grandchildren.

Visitation with viewing 5-8 p.m. Thursday, May 31, 2018, at the Sunfield United
Brethren Church. Services honoring her life will be held 11 a.m. Friday June 1, 2018, also at
the Church. Contributions may be made to the VFW Post in Portland. Interment will be in
