Mrs. Stemler passed away Monday, October 11, 2010 at her home in Lyons, MI at the 
age of 95. She was born October 31, 1914 in Portland, Michigan, the daughter of 
George and Helen Rowe. Edith married John Stemler June 12, 1942 in Portland, 
Michigan. Edith was a country school teacher at Friendbrook Country School in 
Portland for many years. She was a member of the Portland Seventh Day Adventist 
Church. Edith loved and enjoyed her family very much. She was an avid gardener and 
loved being out in nature. Surviving are her children, Carol McKay of Patagonia, 
Arizona, Dan Stemler of Lyons, MI, Jeanette (Robert) Regan of Edmore, MI, Sue 
(Patrick) Dickson of Spring, Oregon, Terry (Patty) Stemler of Sunfield, MI, and 
Walter (Sheila) Stemler of Troutdale, Oregon. Grandchildren, Kevin, Brian, Arthur, 
Frank, Jesse, John, Samantha and Cassandra. Great grandchildren, Bethany, Jasmine, 
Elizabeth, Sydney, Garret, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by

her husband John Stemler, sisters Georgia Cook of Portland, MI and Ruth Cvetnick of

Pewamo, MI. A Grave side Service will be held Monday 1:00 P.M., November 1, 2010 at
