STEMM LAKE ODESSA - Samuel J. Stemm, 76, of 1425 Lake Odessa, died Friday at Provincial House in Hastings where he was a patient three day ago. He was born March 26, 1902 in Edmore, the son of John and Mary Sharp Stemm and attended school in Montcalm county. Mr. Stemm married Cloye Darling in Angola, Indiana and she preceded him in death. He married Edith Grinnell October 11, 1941 in Portland. Mr. Stemm started working for the C & O Railroad when he was 17 years old and retired in 1967. He was a member of Calvary United Brethren church in Lake Odessa, the Oddfellow Lodge of Saranac and Rebekah Lodge, 110, of Saranac. Survivors include his wife; one sister, Mrs. Bertha Martin of Crystal and nieces and nephews. Services are Saturday at 2 p..m. from the Pickens-Koops funeral chapel in Lake Odessa with Pastor Joseph Fox officiating. Burial is in Lakeside cemetery.
