Ionia Sentinel Standard, 7 Dec 1953

Phyllis Stencel, 8, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Stencel, died unexpectedly
Sunday at 9:30 a.m. at her home in Easton township.  She was born Sept. 2, 1945
at the Ionia County Memorial Hospital.  She was a student in the second grade at
the Dildine school and a member of the St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran church and
Sunday school.

Besides her parents she is survived by six sisters: Kathryn of Grand Rapids,
Mrs. Ruth Hewitt of Almont, Joyce of Michigan State College, Caroline, Marian,
Sue Ellen, at home; five brothers: Burton of Camp Pickett, Va., James, John,
Gerald and Richard, at home; grandfather, John Stencel of Easton township, and
grandmother, Mrs. May Hawn of Ionia.

Funeral services will be held from the St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran church,
Wednesday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Eric Cash officiating.  Interment will be at
the Highland Park cemetery.  The body will be at the Boynton funeral home until
time of the services.
