Stephens, 84, of Ionia, passed away Friday, January 14 at her home. She was born on May 17, 1920 in Ionia, the daughter of C. James Bunnell and Pearl (Kaiser) Bunnell. She is survived by her children Doris and Robert Butler of Ionia, Robert and Loma Stephens of Saranac, Charles and Vicki Stephens Sr. of Ionia, Terry Lee and Deborah Stephens of Ionia and Jerry Lynn Stephens of Ionia. She has 15 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Mrs. Stephens has been a lifelong resident of Ionia. She was a member of the Ionia Presbyterian Church the VFW Post 5065 Ladies Auxiliary, the World War I Barracks, the Rebekah Lodge, the Ionia Democratic Party and had also worked with EightCap’s domestic violence board. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service, beginning at 10 a.m. Funeral services will be on Monday, January 17, beginning at 11 a.m. at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Sheridan. Interment will be at Highland Park Cemetery. The family suggests memorial considerations to the VFW Post 5065 Ladies Auxiliary of Sheridan.
