Stevens, 69, who died Wednesday morning at Pennock hospital in Hastings where he was taken two weeks ago. He had been in ill health since last December. Born in Dark County, Ohio, October 18, 1871, he was married to Gertrude Shade of Greenville, Ohio, on August 19, 1893. The couple then moved to Mason county in Michigan. Twenty-five years ago they moved to Lake Odessa where they lived for a short time before they moved to the Anway farm in West Odessa township where they have lived for the past 20 years. He was a member and a trustee of the First United Brethren church and has also been a member of the Lakeside grange. Surviving are the wife; three children, Mrs. Naomi Neeb of Boston township, Mrs. Grace Miller of Union City, Ind.; a son, Myrvel, at home; two sisters, Mrs. Lura Elliott of Union City, Ind., and Mrs. Mary Lou Ware of Santa Cruz, Calif., and a brother in Kalamazoo. Rev. J.D. Barr will officiate at the service and interment will be at Lakeside cemetery.
