William C. "Bill" Stephens age 87, of Greenville, formerly of Fenwick and Detroit 
passed away Wednesday June 14,2023 under the care of Corewell Spectrum Hospice. He 
ws born May 17, 1936 in Detroit, the son of Ivan L. and Phyllis M. (Duane) 
Stephens. He was known as Captain Detroit, a firefighter in Detroit, former owner 
of the Shady Lady Beauty Salon and equipment operator extraordinaire. Hill is 
survived by his wife and five sons. He was preceded in death by his parents, his 
first wife Marlene Stephens and his fur babies. Private visitation will be held 
and burial will be in Palo Cemetery.
