He was born in Lake Odessa, Michigan, on Sept. 16, 1944, the son of John "Jack" and Joyce Rose (Smith) Sterzick. Following high school, Chuck served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a self-employed truck driver for many years always taking his dog, and faithful companion, Trixie, with him on the road. He married Barbara Jean Corder on March 16, 2013, at the Lighthouse on Long Lake and she survives. Chuck enjoyed time with family and friends and was an avid hunter. In addition to his dear wife, Barbara, Chuck leaves to cherish his memory, several nieces, nephews and other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. A Memorial Service will take place on Saturday, Oct. 25, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Verdun Family Funeral Home, 303 S. Bridge St., Belding, with Rev. Rodger Moore Officiating. Military honors will also be accorded by the Belding V.F.W. Honor Guard.
