The Ionia County News, Thursday, November 25, 1954

Jacob Stevens, 87, of Bayard St., Ionia, died in the Cook Convalescent Home, 
Sunday, and funeral service was held from Myers Funeral Home, Wednesday 
afternoon.  He was born August 5, 1867 in Ohio, and came to Ionia when he was 
sixteen years old.  He was a cement contractor and retired seven years ago.  
He had been a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Ionia, since 1913.

He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. John Eldred and two grandchildren.  Rev. 
Court O. Adams of the First Christian Church officiated at the service and 
burial was in Highland Park cemetery.
