She spent a great part of her young life on the farm where she was born and attended the rural school near her home. Later she graduated from the Lowell High School where she proved herself a good student winning the love and admiration of all who knew her. She was a regular attendant of the First United Brethren church, Lake Odessa, and was a very efficient Sunday school teacher. Her splendid spirit of cooperation and readiness to serve were characteristic of her life. Her sunny disposition and the thought of pleasure for others won for her many friends. About a year ago she was married to Mervill Stevens of Odessa township and spent a very happy 11 months of married life with her husband on a farm east of the former West Odessa church. Besides her husband she leaves a brother, LaVerne, who lives at the old home, two nieces, Phyllis and Lois, one nephew, Fredrick, besides a host of other relatives and friends to mourn their loss. Funeral services were held in the Congregational church at Clarksville with the Rev. E.A. Shulls, pastor of the First United Brethren church in Lake Odessa, officiating. Interment was made in the South Boston cemetery.
