The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Friday, January 31, 1936

Funeral services for Daniel N. Stevens, who died Tuesday morning, January 28, 
at his home on Oak drive, were held Thursday, January 30, from the Boynton 
funeral chapel. Rev. Carl Gladden, of Sheridan, officiated, and Mrs. Dana Hoy 
and son Kenneth sang.  Interment at the Highland Park cemetery.

Bearers were Fred Gott, Andrew Guernsey, Nelson Guernsey, and Arley Secoy, of 
Ionia.

Relatives attending from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Neilson Stevens, Mrs. 
Beedie Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Elbert Covert and son Paul, of Flint.

Mr. Stevens had been ill for the past few months.  He was born in Muskegon 
Heights October 15, 1859, and married Eliza Haight August 4, 1897, at Cedar 
Springs.  They moved to a farm in Ionia county 11 years ago.

Surviving him are four children, Samuel, William, Daniel L. Jr., and Mary 
Sumner, of Ionia.
