The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Monday, September 13, 1943

Wesley Stevens, 86, of 611 East Main street, died Sunday night at 11:15 
o’clock at his home.  Born July 5, 1857, in Napoleon, Ohio, he came to 
Michigan at the age of 17 and had been a resident of Ionia since that time.

In 1888 he was married to Catherine Patterson, who survives him.  He is also 
survived by three daughters, Mrs. Myrtle Street, Mrs. Ruth Cleveland and Miss 
Nina Stevens, all of Detroit; three sons, William, Fred and Thomas, all of 
Lansing; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild; also two brothers, 
Frank Stevens and Jake Stevens of Ionia.

Mr. Stevens was a charter member of the Moose lodge in Ionia.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock (ewt).  Rev. C. 
A. Brady, pastor of the Church of Christ will officiate and burial will be in 
the family lot in Highland Park cemetery.
