Portland Observer - Thurs. March 2, 1922

Mrs. Sarah Stevens, aged 82 years, pioneer resident of Portland, passed away 
shortly before noon, Thursday at the home of W.O. Wescott, following an illness 
from ailments including to old age.

The late Mrs. Stevens was born in Dundee, Michigan, and came to this place in 
1866. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Chas. W. Waring of Mt. Clemens and 
Miss Mabel Stevens of Lansing.

Funeral services were held at the residence, Saturday afternoon in charge of 
Rev. Floyd Blewfield. Interment took place in Portland cemetery.
