Ionia Daily Sentinel Standard, 19 Jan 1945

Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Morris
funeral home in Saranac for Mrs. Alice Stevens, 64, who died Thursday morning at
the home of her daughter, Mrs. Orange Fish, of Ionia.  Burial will be in Saranac
cemetery.  Mrs. Stevens was born April 1, 1880, in Lake Odessa, and had resided
most of her life in Saranac.  She suffered a stroke Sunday at her home in
Saranac, and was taken to the home of her daughter in Ionia.

She is survived by her husband, Ammon Stevens; two daughters, Mrs. Fish and Mrs.
Howard Shepherd of Berlin township; one son Leo Stevens of Muir; three sisters,
Mrs. Phoebe Stevens of Saranac, Mrs. George Rogers of Muskegon and Mrs. Marjorie
Chapman of Milwaukee, Wis.; two brothers, Charles Hackle of Los Angeles, Calif.,
and George Scott of Michigan City, Ind.
