Stevens, 69, died at his home, 420 King street, Friday, July 25, at 3 p.m. He had been ill for 12 years but had been failing fast during the past 12 months. Mr. Stevens was born at Grass Lake in Jackson county September 15, 1877. His parents were Henry and Ida Stevens. He married the former Blanche DeGraw of Saranac in 1899. They moved to Ionia from Remus and have lived here for about 34 years. He was employed by the Reed for 15 years and was a farmer prior to that. Surviving him are the wife, Blanche; two daughters, Mrs. Vida Belle Loader of Mt. Pleasant and Mrs. Helen Huffman of Ionia; one son, Cecil, of Wacousta; a half-brother, Roy Aldrich; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from Boynton's funeral home with the Rev. Dwight M. Kitch officiating. Interment will be in the family lot in Easton cemetery." Interment was in the family lot in Easton cemetery. The Rev. Dwight M. Kitch officiated. Mr. Stevens died at his home at 420 King street Friday at 3 p.m. after a lengthy illness. Pallbearers were Charles Edlin, Dale Edlin, Vincent Larson and Norman Kimball. Pleasant; and Mr and Mrs Howard Scheffer of Palo."
