The Portland Observer, Wednesday, April 8, 1885
Died – in this village, Friday morning, March 27th, 1885, at the residence of 
her son, Robt. H. Stevens, Mrs. T. L. Stevens, aged 78 years and 6 days.  Mrs. 
Stevens was one of the early settlers of this county, coming to Lyons township 
almost 50 years ago, and 10 years ago she removed from that township to 
Portland.
