E. church this afternoon, the official board of the church attending in a body, showing in this way a proper respect to the faithful life of deceased. Rev. Mr. Urch’s discourse was simple, tender with feeling, and altogether appropriate. The music was by Mr. H. J. Horrigan and Miss Scotford. The floral offerings were numerous and of unusual beauty, a triangle and cross piece being particularly noticeable. The bearers were A. S. Wright, M. H. Amphlett, James Mains and Elias Reusch. Interment was in the city cemetery. Deceased has been a faithful member of the M.E. church 65 years, and it is over half a century ago that he joined the church in this place. George E. Stevenson, wife, and daughter, of Detroit, were here to attend the services. Mrs. Barlett, the only surviving member of Jesse Stevenson’s family, was not able to come.
