Roger A. (Steve) Stevenson, 84, of Chipewa Lake, Mich., born February 16, 1924 
in Shaftsburg, Mich., died December 23, 2008 at his home in DeWitt. He was a 
veteran of the U.S. Army in WWII, member of the Eagle and Moose Lodges, 
American Legion and a life-time member of the VFW.

Roger also enjoyed hunting and fishing at his cottage. Roger worked and retired 
from Granger’s in Lansing.

He is survived by his best friend of many years Lillian Stehlik, and her son 
Harold Stehlik; his children, Sheri (Burle) Moore, Linda (Jerry) Heiden, 
Marlena Holley, Madalyn Beckett, Melissa Stevenson, Mark (Valerie) Stevenson; 9 
grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. He was 
preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, 3 sisters, and 2 great-
grandchildren.

Memorial services were held on Monday, December 26, 2008 at 4 p.m. at the 
Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home, 205 E. Washington, in DeWitt, Mich., with Rev. 
Stephen Ezop officiating. Contributions may be made to Sparrow Foundation 
Hospice Services, P.O. Box 30480, Lansing, MI 48909, or Heartland Hospice 865 
S. Cedar, Mason, MI, 48854 in memory of Mr. Stevenson.
