Little was born near Akron, Ohio, February 18, 1847. At the age of nine years she moved with her parents to Ronald township, Ionia county, Michigan, where she finished her education and taught school. She was united in marriage to Robert S. Stewart and come to Bloomer township. She was familiar with many of the hardships incident to pioneer life and lived to see a wilderness turn into fine farms. Her last winters and summer have been spent in various places: Dakota, Texas, Grand Ledge, Lansing and Detroit, where she departed this life April 10, 1927. Hers was a retiring disposition, a truly sympathetic and christian character. She was esteemed by all who knew her and she believed that living this life well fitted her for the life to come. She leaves to mourn their loss two daughters, Mrs. Porter Sessions, of Detroit, Mrs. Howard Eliot of Lansing, and three step-children, Mrs. Virgil Pitcher of Sheridan, Florence and George Stewart of this place. The funeral services were conducted from the homestead near Butternut, and interment was made in the Woodard Lake cemetery. Rev. A.T.
