                                 JOHN C. STEWARD

SUNFIELD-John C.Steward, 77, of 9751 Clinton Trail, Mulliken, died Dec. 3 at the 
Hayes-Green Beach Hospital in Charlotte.

Born Feb. 14, 1907, in Sunfield Township, Easton County, he was the son of Mason 
and Jennie Bennett Steward. He retired as a metal finisher from Fisher Body, 
Lansing, after serving 25 years and was a lifelong resident of the Sunfield 
area.

He was married Sept.6,1932, to Laura Pfeiffer at Angola, Ind.

An avid Detroit Tiger fan, he had attended the Lakeland Spring Training Camp for 
the past 16 years.

Surviving are his wife,Laura; three sons, Douglas of St.Louis,Mich., Robert of 
Portage, and Richard of Scottsdale, Ariz.; 12 grandchildren and two great-
grandchildren, two brothers, Evert of Charlotte and Dale of Lake Odessa; and one 
sister,Blanche Foltz of Sunfield.

Five brothers, Paul, Charles, Claude, Arthur and Albert, and one sister,Ethel, 
preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. from the Mapes-Fisher Funeral Home, 
Sunfield, with the Rev. Gordon Binns officiating. Eulogist will be Edgar 
Fleetham.

Burial will be in Sunfield Cemetery.

The family will be at the funeral home from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 yo 9 p.m. Friday.
